Electronic Monitoring (EM) is a technology-based system used to track and supervise individuals to ensure compliance with specific conditions set by legal or regulatory authorities.

It may be ordered by the Court of Justice, Correctional Services Agency, or Parole Board

EM devices, such as GPS trackers, radio frequency (RF) ankle bracelets, provide real-time data to monitoring authorities to enforce curfews, geographic restrictions, or other court-ordered conditions.

In addition to supervision, EM is also used as a form of rehabilitation, allowing individuals to reintegrate into society while being held accountable for their actions.

By providing a structured approach to monitoring, EM supports behavioural change, reduces recidivism, and enables individuals to maintain employment, education, and family responsibilities while complying with legal requirements
